Next Trek


I was watching an ep of DS9 today- the one with the tribbles- and Worf mentions what happened to the Tribble homeworld. Then I came up with an idea for a gag strip. I also remembered that while at Worldcon, I viewed a "fan" film that guest-starred George Takei.

The writer and director of the piece talked about how he was pitching a Sulu show to Paramount. That completed my idea for a possible new Trek series.


I don't know how often I'll be doing these strips, but I will do them every once in a while.

My interest never went as deep as my interest in Asian languages, but deep enough that I have several dozens of books in or about French. My first French movie exposure was the stylish thriller DIVA . The opening opera scene still gives me goosebumps just due to the amazing singing of Wilhelminia Wiggins Fernandez . It would be another few years before I got to see Luc Besson's La Femme Nikita . A few years after that I saw the fantastic comedic horror (or horrific comedy)  Delicatessen , and the classic slapstick spy comedy, The Tall Blond Man with One Black Shoe .   I really enjoyed these two genres of French film, the comedy and the action thriller and always looked forward to finding new works by these actors and direct...

10 Reasons Why Insecurity Doesn't Totally Suck

There are a lot of us out there who let our insecurities get the best of us. For some it's a matter of dealing with a niggling doubt now and then, for others it's a constant battle with 50-foot colossus of self-loathing. I grew up with it, shared bunk-beds and a toothbrush with it, and did my best to stake that bastard in the heart every chance I got, but recently I had an epiphany.
